I am a graduate mechanical engineer with five decades of expwrience in various functions. Initially working in companies having 3 to 300 workforce I joined Mahindra Tractors where I worked for 34 years.Starting with process improvements I was assigned task of field performance improvement and subsequently new product development.My team has successfully developed and lauched a 15 HP small tractor project. I have also assisted in vendor development who struggled with quality issues. Participlating in impementing strategic souiecing initiative was one interesting project I have worked on. 

I was interested in engineering work right from my childhood. To support it I have opted for technical stream for my SSCL studies. I have also worked as apprentice machinist with small firm. Therefore I did not faced any problem most of the engineers face while working in their first job Since I was familiar with industry atmosphere. Enginners are called as problem solvers of the world Therefore I concentrated on developing problem solving skills of my team members. I have internalized the teachings of Dr. Ishikawa and Dr. Juran who were stalwarts of quality improvements. By working with McKinsey consultants I could internalized their approach to solvce complex problems faster a against typical probem solving methods which takes lot of time. Managaments world over dislike it. Throiugh out my career I was recognized as a great bproblem solver The initial step of defining the problem correctly is a important step in problem solving which I used to focus and trained my team to work on problem definition firts and you will be almost there. Now the process is called desoign thinking and is being practised by good problem solvers. Use of tools such as QFD and FMEA are part of my expertize and team memebrs for other teams also consult me to learn them.

I used to interview engineers for filling vacancies and also to increase thebench strength for upcoming expansion projects in R&D. Here I used to find difficult to find suitable candidates. I thought if this is the condition of engineering graduates then what about students from other streams, I decided to do something for them.I started a traing institute to train students in graphic design, animation and special effects. We used to counsel students and their parents about neccesity of job ready skills. Students trained by us are now working for adveritisung agencies and software developers. We were forced to close it due to covid pandemic. Now I have started giving onlinr coaching for engineers to develop problem solving skills to grow their career.
